Should the NFL change the format of overtime to something similar college does? I like the college overtime format because both teams have an equal shot at the win and the game continues until someone does better in there half of O.T. The problem I have with the NFL overtime is that usually who wins the coin toss wins the game because of sudden death.

You have to be strong on both sides of the ball though. The game is not ALL offense. My opinion is if your defense cannot stop one drive, you don't deserve the win.

First of all the winning percent of the team that wins the coin toss is only something around 58%, not much different.

Secondly, the NFL overtime rules are much better than college. College rules seem to reward the offense only. Football is about all 3 parts, offense, defense, and special teams and the NFL rules put all 3 parts into play in over time. And any one of the 3 parts can win the game in OT, not so in college. The NFL should not change anything about their OT rules. If anything, college needs to change their rules to match the NFL.

Yes, one shot each to win, then sudden death. Everyone's been happy with the current system sometimes, and hated it others. If they change the rule, this will stay the same, but it seems to me the right thing to do. The only argument against changing it that makes any sense at all, is that the NFL is a success and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I think that the NFL should have similar rules like college. Make them start at the 30 yd line instead of the 25. Make it so you they got 4 downs to score, no first downs. But other than that it is good format for the NFL.

Both teams already have an equal chance to make it. It's called a coin toss. 50-50. Some of these games would drag on forever if they changed the rules.

only that both teams get the once ball then its sudden overtime none of that get ball on the 20 crap....

To people under me a team could win a super bowl because they won a coin toss and got the ball 1st and kicked a field goal. I say both teams get ball once then its sudden death. Great defenses alow 1 touchdown sometime so u say they dont deserve to win??????????

Colts followers (the bandwagon ones) many times in no way difficulty approximately regulations or policies until it at as quickly as effects THEIR team in a unfavourable way. Wasn't their some crap final 12 months while the refs did no longer supply the Chargers a TD that they could have interior the playoff game and the Bolts nevertheless won? additionally, they are going to communicate approximately how the Pats have been 11-5 without playoffs, yet fail to show how a form of video games have been lost in overtimes. The Colts will whine because of the fact maximum of them are no longer respected followers, merely like the Pats followers that shop whining related to the equipment no longer being honest. additionally, the ref calls have been all respected, yet they are going to locate besides to whine and whinge. stay Cool
