with out the hackers you would not see all the faults in windows, the reason macs do not get hacked is because it it not worth the hackers time as there is only a few macs about, that is why they are not hacked macs has probably the same faults but the hackers do not bother to expose them due to the minority of uses, this is my opinion and i could be very wrong as i have not used a mac and i did not mean to offend any mac users

There are three kinds of hackers called black, white and grey hackers.
A hacker is a very good programmer, capable of understanding computer programs at the lowest level (machine language).
Its targets are just to "crack" systems, go through all security barriers and "attack" the system.
They are considered as "champions", as the "man beating the machine", like we keep admiring thieves who empty the coffers of a big bank without firing a bullet, or anyone who has the guts to oppose a government... and wins.
Hacking has several purposes, such as challenge, to break the unbreakable barriers, or curiosity, to find "what is there", or simply profit, to get something form your machine, whether a photograph, a program, or your data, or anger, to make damages of any kind.
That is what distinguishes the "colour" of the hacker.
A black hacker attacks the system for his own profit, stealing goods or damaging your assets. He is a lawless individual and, if caught, could end up in jail.
A white hacker does the same job, but usually well paid, for institutions (banks, governments etc), to attack their own systems to find the weaknesses, so the system's security can be improved. All banks use them: it is an official job and quite rewarding (I was one of them).
A grey is in-between: not too sure what to do!
So, Blacks, low life angry disapointed people who deserve long term jail, Whites, good guys (they actually build many anti-viruses), and Grey, I don't like them because they are undecided...
But, hey! I don't like biological viruses, but we need them to improve our immune system...

There are ethical hackers, there are hacktivists and there are childish little punks who are disempowered in real life so they have to make everybody else unhappy. These guys are usually teenaged boys who can't get a date. Certified ethical hackers are studs and hacktivists are the envy of geeks.

REAL hackers know the consequences of their actions. If youre really really good, you can wind up with a government or coporate job. If youre an even intermediate hacker, you will almost certainly wind up being somebody's biotch in a jail cell. You or your parents will be financially responsible for the damage you cause. And intermediate level hackers are EASY to catch

They're smart people, but the ones who cause damage are jerkoffs.

Like a deadly animal, graceful yet threatening.
