Don't kid yourself, there's bad in every human being and that includes everyone who thinks they are "good" and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It's human nature, there will always be some morbid drive at fascination that will eventually lead to something great in their own eyes, but bad in the eyes of society. There is also an issue of pride and the need to feel superior to someone else. Or to prove you are the best amongst the rest.
I blame religion for being one of the root causes.

First, you must understand that "bad people" is a judgement which is relative to the inquirer. What's seen as bad to one may not be so bad to another. That being said their are people who can be judged rightly as bad by any law whether natural or spiritual. From this point on I can only speak to you from what I believe, as will every other responder their own belief, but keep in mind that my intent is not to be one sided or to convert you, etc. It is your responsibility to develope your own belief. Just like our natural sun brings us bright light, warmth, energy, healthy and positive benefits let us for the sake of this answer consider the night to be primarily it's opposite in terms of the darkness, cold and the inability to navigate with ease. (This is not to suggest that I think night in all bad and day is all good, but bare with me) I believe that good people in this world are like the sun's rays upon the land. They bring light (which besides brightness is knowledge, wisdom, etc.) warmth, growth, and all that is needed to promote variety of difference and similarity of common which is the beauty of it all. In turn bad people like the night gives us darkness, cold, and impede growth which leads to death. It's all about what each one of us choose for ourselves. No one can make that choice for you but you. However, the sun's light cannot pierce through the tall mountains or into the deepest parts of the valley, nor is the night without the light of the moon and stars. They in the smallest and yet greatest of ways depend on and celebrate each other. Finally consider this, the power of light ( Love ) will forevermore drive away darkness. So bad people exist for/by the will of the good. I hope you make the right choice...take care!...

Because it would be too uneven without good there would be no evil and vice-verse. Besides everyone has a little bad in them no one is really perfect.

I blame it mostly on bad parenting, but there are a countless number of factors making someone "bad."

So you and I could feel superior.
Seriously, because God gives us freedom, and some people make bad choices.
