Great American and one that speaks plainly and is not afraid to take a stand. Not like the so called media favorites who waffle on every issue depending on who the audience is.
The current crop of politicians pander to the special interest groups. They could care less what the American people want. We need to elect someone like Ron Paul so the rest of our so called representatives will wake up and start pandering to the American people like they are supposed to.
The people at Google like him, so do I.

Only heard of him about 5 or 6 months ago, and like him because, I don't think he's lying about anything. Isn't that strange? A politician that has a clean record, and actually makes sense? I'm not saying he's the best, but you have about 18 people to choose from at this early stage, and he looks good if you look into him.
I had blown him off at first.

I knew about Ron Paul years before it was cool. When it comes to making liberals and neocons howl like scalded cats, no congresscritter does it better.
His chances at the presidency remain slim. Globalism will not go down easy.

Ron Paul is a guy who is just a couple of issues away from being politically perfect in my book. The problem for me is that the couple of issues are the biggest ones-national security, terrorism and foreign policy. On domestic issues, I could not find myself more in agreement on everything with anyone else that I can imagine. He is the only candidate who actually favors shrinking the size of the federal government and returning power to the states and the people. His domestic policies would be a lifesaver for this nation. His ideas tend to resonate strongly with people who listen to him because they are the ideas that built America. Unfortunately, people often associate him exclusively with his opposition to the war in Iraq and never hear his real ideas for governance. If his foreign policy ideas were not so suicidally naieve, he would be a powerful voice in this primary season and a real force with which to contend.

I have heard of him and even heard him being interviewed on the radio "The Glenn Beck Program" lately. I like him basically, I think his policies are a little too libertarian for my taste. His chances are slim and none for getting the nomination mostly because of name recognition problems

I've recently heard of him and actually witnessed him on the repubican debate a few days ago. I personally agree the man has a strong platform and what he represents I agree with for the most part. In all honesty, he's gaining a lot of attention in my book.
Chances, I'd say, they're getting better.

Everyone has heard of him - just very very few take him seriously.
His platform is full of lunacy and inconsistency.
He goes on and on about the importance of the constitution yet has advocated laws in clear breach of the 14th amendment with respect to immigrants.
He repeatedly says he will dismantle the IRS and savagely cut taxes yet has not outlined how he will collect what taxes remain and how he will balance spending (especially since he has rather a penchant for spending having earmarked $400m for his own constituency.
He wants the US to play an isolationist role in world affairs - undermining global solutions to global problems
He wants to remove the flexibility in the economic system that has prevented a repeat of the Great Depression.

He's the best candidate out there, on all the issues except national defense. He won the first 3 debates. Sadly, he looks like a weasel and doesn't have good vocal quality.
He has no chance.
My dream candidate ( other than myself ) would be Ron Paul in Mitt Romney's body.

Sounds like a porn star.....
But I think he's a Republican either running, or thinking of running, for office.
Of course, considering the corruption and immorality Republicans have brought to the oval office and Capitol Hill, perhaps being a porn star and being president aren't all that incompatible......
God help America if the Republican monied interests steal another election....and say "goodbye" to democracy and "hello" to a dictatorship in sheep's clothing.
Bit by bit, in the middle of the night (literally, that's when Republican legislators have often "passed" bills, often "forgetting" to alert Democrats that there was going to be a vote...) radical right-wingers have been stealing our democracy from us.
And it's OUR fault because of all the stupid, ignorant, selfish, greedy people who put them there.
I can't believe ANYONE is even thinking of voting Republican in '08! Haven't you had ENOUGH????

If I weren't on these boards a lot, I probably would have heard very little about him. That said, his platform is too conservative for me.
