Are there any common household products that could be added to a childrens swimming pool to eliminate or discourage the growth of mildew or any other potentially nasty germs that could end up in the pool?

Any links would be greatly apprieciated.

Baking soda will change the PH of pool water and is a natural disenfectant and discourages mold/bacteria growth.. It's also not harmful if swallowed.. If you buy the big bag there's instructions about changing the PH of the pool water you may have to get a PH tesing kit.. Good luck
