Okay, I'm not the typical teenager. I prefer reading than watching television and/or playing on the computer. In fact, at times, I neglect to do my homework or chores to read a book. I'm not saying that's a good thing but that's just the way I am. In result of my obsesive reading, my vocabluary and outlook on the world are wider than most people my like age--in some cases, at any age! =D

Anywho, that's not why I'm posting this. All the other questions seem to be all serious, which isn't bad, but I was thinking; why not spice it up a bit and talk about your opinion on the Best Book Ever! Besides, I'm looking for some new reading material, someone else might be too!

My favorite book: "Twilight" By: Stephanie Meyer

I just finished "Three Cups of Tea" at the suggestion of another Yahoo member. It is about the remarkable work in the poor areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan by Greg Mortensen, a man who builds, outfits and staffs schools. He is especially committed to the education of girls. It will give you amazing insight into the lives of people there.

Same as you, I'm a teenager obsessed with reading, so my favorite book changes about twice a month. Right now my favorite book is The Naming by Alison Croggon, the sequel is alright, but I prefer the first. The Naming is kind of like Lord of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, that's probably why I love it. My favorite book last month was Dune by Frank Herbert it all pretty much centers around one planet called Arrakis which has a very addictive spice that the galaxy craves. So there's fights and disagreements between different planets on who owns Arrakis. Then the rest of it is about the people of Arrakis fighting for their freedom. I've read it at least three times now, can you tell? Right now, I'm predicting a favorite change this week, I'm just starting a new book called Once Upon a Winter's Night by Dennis L. McKiernan. It's pretty much a version of Psyche and Cupid, it also sounds a lot like the movie the Polar Bear King, so I'm sure to enjoy it.

Stephenie Meyer is also my favorite author, but I have yet to decide which one of her books was her best. Some of my other favorite books were: East (Edith Pattou), The City of Ember, The People of Sparks (Jeanne DuPrau) The Great Tree of Avalon (T. A. Barron) Goose Girl, Enna Burning, River Secrets (Shannon Hale) The Palace of Laughter (Jon Berkeley) The Lightening Thief, The Sea of Monsters (Rick Riordan) Beauty (Robin McKinley) Ella Enchanted, Fairest (Gail Carson Levine) The Warrior Heir (Chima). And of course Harry Potter, though the 7th one was much more thought through than the 1st.

i think that the harry potter series is a phenominal book you should really read them they have adventure, mystery, love/romance and it has all the book genres is ALL 7 books JKRowling did a good job in writing these books so i think that they are the best i a harry potter fan #1 all the way. Another book you could read is the series of Narnia even though reading them might confuse you because the movies are not coming out in chronilogival order you might love the book thy are written by C.S Lewis. Other books that you could read for light reading are
Monster by: Walter Dean Myerys
The River by: Gary Paulsen
Hatchet by: Gary Paulsen
Lord of the Rings Trirology by: J.R.R. Tolkien
The Hobbit by: J.R.R Tolkien
i think that JKRowling, J.R.R. Tolkien, and C.S Lewis they are ALL friends and they are some of the best authors any book by them is great

I am the same way. I dont know many other teens who love 2 read for fun. I got grounded from reading once instead of cell or tv like most people. I like the Harry Potter books. Especially #7. But i also like the novels by Thomas Harris. Theres Black Sunday, Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising (in that order lol) They are great mystery/ crime thrillers. Read them! :) oo also theres Ashes of Roses. Its about the famous Shirtwaist fire. omg i cried like a baby!

lol, i feel the same way about reading too.

i don't appear to have a selected favorite, but i enjoy the following very much: The Raging Quiet - Sherryl Jordan, Drowning Ruth - Christina Schwarz, and A Northern Light - Jennifer Donnelly.

Nora Roberts has been the author of the past few books i've read, as well as the one i am now.

'Diary' by Chuck Palahniuk.
A deep mystery about a woman who's husband is in a coma, so she starts a 'coma diary' for the days he's away.....but something's going on on their little island where the boat fairy only runs to take them to the main land so many times a week.....everyone seems to think she's going to 'save' them.....but from what or how she really doesn't know.....And something is up with her mother-in-law, is she the most insane woman ever or what?!
This book is full of gruesome humor and very confusing mysteries. Another juicy must read by the intelligent Chuck Palahniuk, author of 'Fight Club' as well.

I'm usually into Christian Interest books and Christian Biographies (anything by Smith Wigglesworth, Roberts Liardon, Joyce Meyer, or Bob Larson). But when it comes to other stuff, my favorites are To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, and Tuesdays with Morrie.
