Maybe your wife simply 'loves you' and knows that you love sports ... and it could be a way to 'keep you at home' instead of going to the bar and getting drunk every weekend without here! Or maybe she's pregnant and wants to give you something 'really good' so you don't get 'angry' when she tells you! WHO KNOWS? YOUR WIFE! Try ASKING HER 'what's up' with her 'seemingly too generous offer' ... I have a feeling that she's got a 'second television' and is just looking forward to watching 'her shows' while you are busy watching sports!

Maybe she just loves football! I bought it for myself!
But judging from your question, you don't think that's the right answer. But I bet she's just been hiding the fact that she loves football. She's really likes watching the games, but can also get something out of you to make up for your insane football watching. Sneaky! I like your wife.

Does your wife like Football? maybe its not for you? Maybe shes trying to be nice... maybe there will be jewelry in her future...
Maybe she saw a commercial and is just a thoughtful person.
Maybe shes putting a point on her side, so when she wants that pair of shoes she can say "But i got you the Sunday Ticket!!"
