Are there any scorpions in L.A. County?

I'd like to catch one. What?! I like insects, arachnaids(?) and other "bugs!" Sheesh...

check a field guide to be sure, but there probably are. Scorpions like the desert and there are scorpions as far north as Yakima Washington If not there are really cool specimens at pet stores

There are scorpions all over southern California, but they are largely found at the edges of civilization, such as the towns that border the Mojave or Sonoran deserts. During the day, you may find them lurking under rocks. At night, you may find them in your tent!
