1. 0+(-9)
Adding a negative is the same as subtracting a positive 0 - 9 = -9

2. 30+(-25)+(-15)
= 30 -25 - 15 = 30 - 40 = -10

3. -3+2+(-7)+7+13
= -3 + 2 -7 + 7 + 13 = 22 - 10 = 12

4. -20+(-89)+112+9
= - 20 - 89 + 112 + 9 = -109 + 121 = 12

5. -4+(-2)+-(2)
= -4 -2 -2 = -8

1. 0 is positive, 9 is negative. When we add a negative number, think of it as subtracting the number. So 0-9 is -9.

2. 30 is positive, 25 is negative, 15 is negative. 30 - 25 is 5, 5-15 is -5.

3. 3 is negative, 2 is positive, 7 is negative, 7 is positive, 13 is positive.

-3+2-7+7+13 = 12

And so on.
