How long they have been in business. Do they have a store front or are they just using a cell phone number? Can I look at other jobs that they have completed, can I talk to them and see how happy they are with their work. Call the BBB and see if there are any complaints against the company.

Just remember they have to be a member of the BBB for you to do anything or find anything out . make sure they are insured and lic. were the work is being done and ask for reference and follow up on them. homeowners who have used the contracters in question are your best reference. and get more than three bids , you will see a differents in price from a big company and a smaller one . use caution and your best judgement don,t rush . good luck!!!

Most importantly of all is to check on their license and insurance. If they are reputable their license should be in good standing and long term by this I mean no complaints with the licensing board and they are not constantly changing names to avoid complaints and creditors. Even the best contractors cam make mistakes so their insurance should be paid up to date and willing to cover any damages that may happen to your home if they screw up

Along with all above...will they haul off old shingles and clean up surrounding area. Make sure they remove old shingles first and that is included in price and in contract.

testimonies from past consumers that you can actually contact, a look at some of their work, how many years they have been in business, cuz if they have been around you know they must be good or they wouldnt have made it this far, and above all make sure they are insured..........good luck

Additions to above,
Are they bonded? Do they insure their work? Do they offer a contract that spells out all they will do for your money?
