You may have to order it online. Piranhas (are illegal in Cali) get about 10 inches long, need to be kept in groups, and are really quite docile. A group of them would need a tank that is about 50 gallons. Pacus get about 3 feet long and require a tropical pond (or a tank the size of an SUV). Neither fish is really as "cool" as they look...

Ambassador, do you really not know what state Los Angeles is in? It's in California for any other geographically challenged potential answerers... where Piranhas are illegal.

i believe RBPs are illegal in cali, but pacus arent.

You can find pacus at any petstore, BUT the question remains, do you have enough gallons, Red belly pacus will get massive, currently i have a cousin, black belly pacu and it is around 35 inches. Reds will get alittle larger.

RPS might be illegal, but again you will need a large tank for them as they will get 12 + inches, and like to be in a school.

So remember to watch for gallons, 100+ is needed.

But also check to see if RBPs are legal in cali. But you cant beat online shopping for finding rare fishes.
