I dont mean just prison. But a few nights in county for a drunken night.

I went to jail for 2 days once for not paying my $25 seat belt ticket. LOL

I've also spent 4 days in county after a rough night of drinking.

What about you?

I have fun watching the "kids" (not age wise, but mentally) from out of state who get incarcerated for reckless driving and positive drug screens. Generally, they are from New York or New Jersey, and their actions in those states are glossed over, while in this state they get to go to jail until bonded or released by the judge during their arraignment the next morning.

In Virginia, 20mph over the speed limit, or 80+ is considered reckless driving. Reckless driving is a criminal (not traffic) offense in Virginia. Thus, people driving 120mph on the interstate are hauled in, and the magistrate will assign them a secured bond. Overnight stay. Almost every single one will state "but I slowed down when my radar detector went off!" (If they were slowing down and the state trooper clocked them at 120mph, how fast were they going before they hit the break?)

The "kids" who are on probation/parole from out of state and get it transferred to in state are very funny also. Virginia is strict. No drugs means no drugs. The definition of "none" is not up to debate. Almost every "kid" brought in for a hot urine screen says almost the same thing. "But they don't bust you in (insert state) for smoking marijuana!"

I've been fortunate to never have to spend any time on the other side of those steel doors.

No but when I used to go out drinking there were not as many police as there is now , I was just lucky I didn't get caught , I well could have spent time in jail for a doing a few crazy things .

I was young and dumb, yaers ago and did 5 days work release over a drunk driving arrest. It straightened me out.
I still drink but keep it at home or just walk to the bar and only have a few beers.

I have NO IDEA how people can do years, come out and go back again and again. I know one guy, that has spent more time in than out
