There is a haunted cemetary nicknamed "Spidergates" in watertown mass. which is supposedly very haunted. You can find stories online about it. Be respectful because it is a cemetary, and although its very old, there are people living nearby with grandparents and such buried there.

Stone henge NH in Salem might be fun for him also. Its not exactly haunted, but it has a kind of mystical appeal.

There is a resturaunt in Manchester NH, mexican resturaunt called Margaritas. It was built in a jail house. It was on the history channel, on a program americal top 10 most haunted locations.

Salem, MA has some good graveyards a few haunted bed and breakfast places, a good Salem Witch Hunt museum and it kind of where all of the spooky paranormal stuff started in America. He may actually learn a thing or too about history in the process.

Captain Buck’s Tombstone
Bucksport, Maine, United States
Long ago, a man named Captain Buck fell in love with a woman who was known to be a witch. In order to protect his reputation, he left her for another woman. The witch cursed him, saying she would leave her foot upon his grave. Today, an outline of a foot is seen on his tombstone. The stone has been scrubbed and even replaced; the outline still remains.

Margaritis Mexican Restaurant
Concord, New Hampshire, United States
Though it was once the Concord police department, the building was renovated and tables now sit in what used to be jail cells. There have been reports of a ghost that has been affectionately named George. It is said that George moves people’s chairs, drinks their beverages, and even throws food.

Don't know any places, but if you can find a graveyard that is not closed at night you can go there and take pictures and record for evp. Just make sure you are not tresspassing or breaking the law. some states like mine aveyards are open 24 hours unless fences and locked or have a sing posted.

You can talk with the local PD before going to make sure you are not breaking the law.

You might be interested in the web site
http://www.haunted-places.com they list reportedly haunted locations by state.

FYI: There is a decent childrens book called
"How To Find A Ghost" by James M. Deem that has some basic investigating techniques.

When I lived in Boston I would visit old cemeteries all the time. I don't believe in the paranormal (but I did at your son's age), but those places are so rich with history that it's hard not to be in awe.

Most major cities have haunted tours.
Look online for paranormal investigators offering haunted tours. They are pretty cheap and lots of fun! I'd do it for you if you were in Houston!
