A Chevy Cavalier tells the world:
" I have given up! I don't care what I'm driving! "
A car for people who don't know any better. UGH!

I drive a 03 cavalier to work everyday.I allso work at a large chevy dealership. The cavalier is a great car.Nice power and fun to drive. There are some people that will post the cavalier as a bad car. These people have never been behind the wheel of one im sure.As for me the cavalier was not the best selling chevy of all time for no reason.Best of luck.

Yes and no. Meaning they are good at that mileage but soon after it is all down hill and it is a steep hill! They are disposable, meaning they are great when they are new but you should get rid of it before 120k miles. Around 90k miles you will notice everything starting to rattle lose in the interior, window cranks will fall off in your hands .......exc. If it is a 5-spd then you will start to lose sycromesh around this time, the head gasket will probably blow too. The check engine, ABS, Low coolant........lights will all start to blink on and off well driving for no apparent reason. Also the ABS system is terrible on these cars, I nearly rear ended someone on dry pavement because it kicked in long before I should have skidded and the car just rolled! I pulled the ABS relay out after that and then had good brakes. Also they have the turning radius of an ocean liner. Couple pluses are they are the best vehicle I have ever driven in the snow and they are dirt cheap so if you just buy it and beat on it for a couple years and then resell it for what you can get it is all worth while but don't bother babying it because it will still fall apart.

yeah the cavaliers are very good cars just keep the maintance up and you'll get well over 200,000 miles out of them we have a '94 cavalier thats got almost 216,000 miles on it and thats better than the miles you can get out of a ford. as for how many years you'll get out of it you can get possibily get 10 to 15 years outta one. chevy is the way to go. $3,900.00 ain't bad either for that car.

as long as you take care of it you can get as many years out of it as you want. cars start running into problems manly from the driver not keeping up with the small things. for the most part cars don't brake down if they are taking care of. a pal of mine had a cavalier and it ran great. but then he started to drive it like it was a corvette so the trans started to go and he didnt change the oil so that started the engine to turn to junk.

Wawa give dodgeman 10 pts as he is right as long as you keep up the maintenance on it. Fluid changes, hoses ,belt and alignment every time ya get tires or sooner if ya "curb it" so the suspension parts won'r wear out due to misalignment

Define good. What did your mechanic say when he inspected it?
You didn't? Well then do it now. Could save you a lot of $ and grief.
