let a be the speed of anya. Then a - 2 is the speed oher brother. She can finish the one lap in 125s, then her brother can finish one lap in 125 + 25 = 150s

distance = speed * time

Anya:
d = a * 125

her brother
d = (a - 2) * 150

they both run a same distance

125a = (a - 2) * 150
125a = 150a - 300
-25a = -300
a = 12 m/s

so the speed of Anya is 12m/s

to find the distance plug in 12 for a

d = 125a
d = 125(12)
d = 1,500 m

x anya's rate
x-2 = brother's rate
125x =150(x-2)
125x = 150x -300
-25x = - 300
x= 12
d = 12*125 = 1500 m
