Alot of people say people in philly got accents..im from philly so i dont notice it..i know we say certain words differently but i dont kno if its a accent. some pople who dont kno assume we sound like people from new york but we dont. but people from otha cities think we got accents..so if you notice that we do, and your not from philly..can you explain to me what we sound like?

I have the classic story about a South Philly accent. Years ago, I lived in Philly and hung out in Rittenhouse Square with the hippies. I met a girl from Sout' Philly, and I asked her what her name was. She answered "Dally." I said, "You mean like Salvadore Dali?" She said, "No, like 'Hello, Dally, well hello, Dally, it's so nice to have you back where you belong.'"

If you live near Philly you gotta Philly accent like me. You'll notice you gotta accent from Philly or NewYorkCity by these works.- Philly, do, dem, dey, gotta,gonna,wanna, yea, com'ere, yous, New Youk.
