In the slob section.
I once had a mother-in-law whom I had to clean house for, in order to live there. According to my then husband, she was such a perfect housekeeper that you could run a white glove inspection on the inside of her furnace. So I scrubbed the gunk off the backs of some of her dinner plates, not finding the rest of the plates. She found the rest of the plates, and the gunk was what I left there, of course. She hadn't known it was there until I scrubbed it off. She/they objected to everything I did, claiming I hadn't done it. Nearly worked myself to death, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, mopping, straightening everything from the ceiling down every single day, even on Sundays. 5 years after I escaped the marriage, she called me and apologized. Said I'd been the greatest inconvenience she'd ever faced, in her selfishness, and had never considered the fact that I was just a 16-year-old kid, thousands of miles away from anybody or anything I'd ever known. They loved my cooking.
Now I only do what has to be done, but everybody looks to me for tips on how to clean any and everything. Just because I don't do it doesn't mean I don't know how.

Closer to the cleaner than the more relaxed. I straighten everyday, sometimes two or three times if we have the grandkids over, dishes done at full dishwasher loads, anywhere from every other day to two times daily. Dust daily, vacuum twice a week sweep on the other days. Shampoo carpets once every two months, baths every three days unless it gets dirty, all clothes washed dried and hung up every three days. Sheets changed twice a week, blankets changed every two weeks. I also have schedules for shopping and bill paying. Actual spot removal done on necessity. Up until our dog died last February, we had enough dog hair to ruin two refrigerators and three vacuums.
I'm still not what I'd call a spotless housewife.

When i was home all day I definitely kept a spotless house and now that i am back to work my house tends to get a little messy by the weekend...not enough time in the day to get it all done everyday. During the week i manage to get the laundry done, and the other basics clean and then on saturday afternoons I begin cooking meals for the following week and the rest of the chores get done on sunday morning.

I've been a mom for over 27 years now. One day, in my dreams, I will have an immaculately clean and spotless house! I am satisfied with having a clean and orderly home right now, and that means sometimes there are dirty socks on the coffee table, leaves and grass clippings tracked in on the carpet, dirty dishes and laundry that multiply when nobody is looking, bath tub rings that are easily hidden when the shower curtain is pulled...LOL! The list goes on, but my house is in no way a pig sty or give any indication that we are slobs! We are a family who LIVE in our home!

those who clean their houses constantly are people who have a lot of time on there hands. i did that " job" for a living and didn't want to come home and constantly "clean". dishes and trash is an everyday job because you don't want left over food or garbage left in your house especially in the heat. laundry is once a week usually when you can dedicate the day for that. but straighting up is the basics on a daily basis. heavy duty jobs like spring and fall cleaning are for major overhalls.

Let's see, how do you clean a bathroom with your 2 year old sucking on the tilex bottle?
How do you keep a kitchen clean when 3 boys are ALWAYS hungry?
Those people that do the above every day have OCD

Our home is to coin a phrase
Clean enough to be healthy, Dirty enough to be happy."
That just about says it all.
But it sure isn*t spotless, I have more important things to do than clean, like visiting Wal Mart, playing cards, just going out. We are retired and loving it.
And as my mother used to say "A hundred years from now whatever you do, won*t make a bit of difference to anyone"

My place is clean. But it's not spotless by any stretch of the imagination: You just won't get spotless with a pair of cats with long or thick fur!
