Im having a mixed baby, and alot of people have been saying either the name is just ugly or to much on the black side, and that my child will be considered just "black" and not mixed because of the name. Is it cute or a bad idea? and its pronounced macon like macon GA but with a K.

I was going to point out the Macon, GA connection. It's not a bad name, but I personally think people would associate him with the South (regardless of race).

I like it better spelled with a "C", but it's not my kid.... I really like the name, and it's not on my name list strictly because my last name ends with "on".... it would be too "rhymy" for my liking....

As for people saying it's a "black" name - the actor William Hurt played a character named Macon in the movie "The Accidental Tourist". He's as white as they come.... Maybe people are saying that because if I'm not mistaken, there's a rapper named Akon? Anyway - that's just ignorant to say something like that.

It is a very unique name but the name should not be based on if the child is mixed or not

Poor kid will get Makin' Bacon for years to come. Doesn't matter your intent, which is honorable. The reality is that the name is what it is and kids are cruel.
