Reuters is a British based wire news service that supplies news and stock market information to media outlets, governments and stock exchanges around the world. It also supplies photographs to TV stations and papers (since 1982) and also now controls Reuters TV which is a TV news syndication service supplying news vision to countries all around the world. Reuters TV used to be called VISNEWS and before that, the British Commonwealth Television News Service.

Baron Von Reuter, the founder of Reuters was a German born entrepreneur who moved to London and started the news service in the late 1800's.
