I drive a 2002 honda accord coupe and since a few months ago there has been this kind of clicking noise coming from i'm assuming my a/c or heater motor. it gets louder as i turn the ac or heat higher (however the noise isn't there when ac/heater is not on)... what could this be? is it critical? is it going to cost a fortune to fix it? any suggestion?

if the noise changes with the speed of your blower motor that is, if it becomes more frequent at higher speeds, then the probability is that you have leaves or other debris that is caught in the squirrel cage of the motor and is getting spun around when the motor is on. If you hear the noise from the right side of your dash then the chances are its just leaves.

if the noise is a solid click that happens independent of the blower speed but when the air conditioning is on, then you may be hearing the air conditioning compressor clutch cycling. If the system is low on refrigerant then the compressor will cycle more often and you will hear it turn on and off about every 15 seconds.

you can have the leaves cleaned out of the blower for about $25. If the air conditioning system has to be recharged its about $100-125.

hope that helps

samantha it is common for things to find there way into the blower motor cage... leaves, business cards, fast food paper etc.. anything on the dashboard that can fall or be drawn into the vents... i would bet that if the motor is removed you will find something stuck in the fan

i might initiate with marvel absorbers or struts, looking on your motor vehicle. if your motor vehicle has greater effective than 60-seventy 5,000 miles this may be a sturdy commencing factor. Shocks and strut overall performance starts to become worse after this mileage.

Relax, it is just the little blower that blows the air threw your system, just like a small fan, cheap and easy to replace.

It's a Honda, it's not suppose to break. You are probably doing something wrong.
