It depends on whether you mean for one person or for a family. If it's for one person, that's above average. If it's a family then I expect that will actually be above the median income but I don't think it will feel like you are much above average in that area. Denver was on Forbes list of 10 most over-priced cities last year. Housing is not as expensive as it is in some places, but it's fairly high. And with the mountains so near by, lots of people have expensive habits. So with $80K, you probably won't feel much above average.
