She won't change the bills over into her name. My name is on the account, so I am responsible. I live 1000 miles from her and my kids, and she won't let me speak to them on the phone or let them answer when I call. I cannot afford legal help.

i have no clue as to the bills .. but have someone else call hour kids and give a false name.. do it at different times of the day.. she cant be home all the time.. some time she has to be gone so you can talk to the kids

I have one word for you, “bitter!” Not you, her….she’s going to take advantage of you for as long as you let her. She’s going to push, push, push until she gets a reaction from and what I think she’s hoping for is an outburst from you. Contact the company’s that are sending you these bills, or obligating you to pay them. Explain the situation and if necessary fax, or mail your divorce decree showing that you’re not responsible. But…you need to give her notice that you’re doing this, because it will look real bad if you cut the power and your kids have no heat! So talk with the billing department first, and then warn your ex, finally cut her off. But, if your not paying child support you need to keep paying for the bills, because that counts towards child support and you need to go get a court order to establish that and visitation time. Personally, I find it appalling that she won’t let you talk to your kids all it’s doing is hurting your guys’ kids. I don’t know the whole situation with the two of you and for all I know your lying through your teeth, but if your on the up and up this is what you should do, but please by all means make sure your kids will be ok.

First of all you can change those bills out of your name yourself, unless it's a loan for a car or house. You don't need money to go to court, you just have to go and fill out the papers for yourself, they have legal aid at the courthouse. She wants to really stick it to you, but you are letting her, if you want these issues to go away you have to take action, don't wait for her to do it, because it won't happen.

Cancel you account on all the bills.
Why do you live so far away?
If you want to see or speak to your children there is financial aid to can use to get help. It is your right to see them.

A start would be to remove your name from any and all all accounts with a certified letter, reply requested, to each account holder.

You're going to pay either way.....paying her bills or paying a lawyer.
In the end getting a lawyer may be cheaper.

Close the accounts.
She will figure it out. And take her to court to get custody.
It should be relatively easy, epically if they have no heat or electricity.

if you have visitation right, go to her house to see the children. if she doesn't like it, she can find a lawyer.
