In the end you will probably just end up killing it. How to you plan on feeding in. You need to know the type of spider it is to feed it properly. There are many spiders that are called daddy long legs, but are not. You need to find prey small enough for it to eat, it cannot be more than half its body size.

A jar is not a proper habitat for any creature. IMO the whole point of keep a pet like a spider(I have a Chilean rose tarantula) is to set up a habitat as close to natural as possible.

Keep it for a day or two and then let it free.

its very simple to manage them, they eat pretty much everything, and they aren't poisonous despite popular belief, they aren't actually spiders at all! you just need a big enough cage for them, they eat fruits an small insects, and like decaying matter. its a good choice!
