Wow, some people have never come into contact with a liberal and just make generalizations after what they heard Limbaugh call them. Not every liberal is the owner of some crazy radio station. They do not hate America, and they're the ones who want to give the people as much freedom as possible.

Because we question government actions and that tends to upset the 'status quo'. I was going to point out that "despised was a rather strong word to use... then I looked at many of the answers you received. Very sad!
I hope you don't mind... I looked at your profile and noticed that you're relatively new to Yahoo Answers and most of your answers have been in other groups. By comparison, the 'Politics' group is much rougher waters.

This is the full fruitation of Carl Roves agenda to discredit and marginalize the main opposition to the Neocon fascist agenda. It's a divide and conquer strategy that keeps Americans fighting over useless points while the administration continues to make huge power grabs that have the potential to destroy the Constitution. Add to this a healthy dose of fear factoring and you end up with a knee jerk voting public.

Liberals are despised by the same people who us to use other racist terms to identify people they didn't like, other ethnic groups have suffered the same bigotry. It's not the word Liberal that's not a problem it's the inflection
It’s taken years to cultivate this new bigotry.

actually, liberal help for Israel has been far greater consistent than has conservative help. for some years, conservatives have been indifferent to Israel, in many circumstances opposing our financial and militia help. it relatively is purely with the aid of fact the upward thrust of the conservative Christian strikes that they are transforming into solidly for Israel. That suggested, on the two aspects of the equation, you have anti-Israel factions. between liberals are some leftists who view Israel as in general an oppressor of Palestinians. between conservatives are some anti-Semites who believe the Jews administration Hollywood, the media, and attempt to regulate the worldwide. those days, diverse conservatives (including Pat Buchanan) complained that there are too many Jews on the staggering courtroom.

I am liberal and if you think I despise this country, you are ignorant and stupid, neither of which surprises me. So, why are we despised? Simply because stupid people find it easier to despise that which is different from them.

Nice screen name! You are just another uniformed sheep that is probably inhaling some drug that inspires his profound statements and questions, much like RUSH and his fondness for oxy-contin, nice conservative ideal there-huh! Better use of your ears and eyes could potentially lead to a more balanced approach to all things in life, and the eventual escape from the sheep pasture you are currently wallowing in.

They're really not. Radical liberals sometimes express opinions that can make it look like they despise America, though, which leads to backlash against them from those who see themselves as patriotic...
