ok. so i want to go to medical school. I will have all my credits in 2 years when i am in my sophmore year. I have the option of graduating when i am in 11th grade and go into college when i should be in 12th grade. I think its a good idea but my mom doesnt. She wants me to graduate with all my friends. What do you think?

I would say stay.. but if you are smart enough to graduate when in the 11 grade, then go for what you think is best for you.

wow! that's awesome! maybe your mom should look at the fact that you will be graduating with your friends.....from college when you get your medical degree! those will be the people you will be sharing life with.
I'm not a child either, I'm 46 years old, and i think your mother is giving bad advice. you are on a roll to an obviously wonderful future, i can't imagine any parent wanting to hold there child back because of "friends". most everyone in high school goes on into the world and they don't see anyone they went to school with until reunions! are these friends that she wants you to graduate with gonna pay your bills as an adult? i think she is being selfish. you know what you want and apparently smart enough to go after it. your mother should be celebrating your ability for going after something so difficult and be happy for you no matter what the outcome. my God, at least your highest goal isn't to try and sack the football quarterback with the hopes of getting pregnant so you can live in a mobile home for the rest of your life!☺

I think you should sit down with your mum and ask her why she wants you to wait and stay another year. She may well have some very rational and logical reasons. Then tell her why you want to go to college when you do and when you have both heard each others opinions you'll probably find you'll be able to make a better decision. No one can really make this decision for you but from my experience I went into nurse training at the youngest age you can and my comparable immaturity (although i thought i was old) made it difficult sometimes. Sometimes some life experience is a really good thing to have. Hope this helps.

I graduated one year early. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. You will make new friends in college, and you'll still get to see your old friends after school/on weekends. I would do it! You should talk with someone in admissions at the college. They'll talk about the advantages, maybe help you sway your mom. Best of luck to you!

I say that 20 years from now you're going to be damn sorry you didn't hang in high school long enough to go to the senior prom, the senior banquet, walk in the graduation ceremony, and all that. Your mom will too, and you'll be disappointed you took those memories away from her.

I remember wanting out of high school when I was in it. Looking back on it, I'm glad I saw it through to the end.

It's more than going to college early ,there are a lot of events during your senior year of high school that are once in a lifetime memories, but alas you can take some of your required college studies early while you're a senior.Check into it and keep asking questions..you'll do the right thing

it's really awesome that you have the opportunity to be able to do that...in my opinion, i think it's a bad idea. a lot can happen in a year and i think it's best you stay with your class. once you start medical school, the stress will be unending until you graduate. why miss out on the best year of your life to go to school like that? you have only ONE CHANCE to go to high school for your senior year...but you can go to medical school now or 20 years from now. don't ruin your prom, your last GOOD year with your friends in a somewhat carefree environment, or YOUR LIFE! stay in HS!!!

whatevre you feel is the right thing to do. It is always nice to have a head start to college, but trust me growing up too fast is not fun. With high school graduation comes a LOT of new responsibilities.

why hold yourself back if you're ready to move on? I say you graduate early! not too many high school friends keep in touch, so if they are really your friends, they will keep in touch while they are seniors in HS and you a freshman in college. think of it as both of you being in different colleges! Since your goal requires many years of schooling, I say you get a head start!

Some of my best memories are of my senior year. Some of the other students, we never hear from, but most of us have stayed in contact. We had so much fun. I would say, enjoy being a senior, but whatever you decide, will be right for you. :)
