Probably true. The different roles required by males and females in the emerging human societies required different values and skills.

Nah. The biggest cause of animosity is the fact that men make about 30 percent more money for the same amount of work, and women are expected to spend a good hunk of their smaller paychecks on makeup and special clothes to "look good", plus do most of the home and child care.
Most women really like being the ones to give birth to the kid, and most most men are really grateful not to be (hormones and all). As for responsibility, well again, men tend to figure they're expected to come up with more money, and women go a little nuts from not getting enough sleep nor help around the house. Responsibility for *not* having a baby rests on both parties, but often what to do about an unexpected/unwanted pregnancy is a lot harder on the woman, because she can't walk away from her body.
Really caring about each other makes a world of difference, whether you want kids or not.

It's a proven fact that there are still women in the world that stupidly think that a baby will hold their man by their side. In this time in history where there are so many contraceptive methods, there are no more credible "oops, I'm pregnant". Nowadays, when a woman gets pregnant, she did it on purpose, and that's "cheating" by all means. Even when a couple is married, children must be a mutual decision, not an imposed one. I'm a woman, but, I have to accept that those kind of women are the ones causing all the lack of trust from men. A baby is not a lock that can be put on the door so a man cannot ever leave. A baby is a mortgage for life.
So, I see your point, and you're right!

I think there's much more reasoning for the animosity between men and women, and that's because the male stereotype is:
- Men only want sex and no commitment.
- Men look at most women as objects and instead of saying, "She looks really nice," it's a, "She looks wicked hot. I'd tap that."
Women are sick of being judged by how "hot" they are or how "tappable" we are when it comes to relationships. We don't want a guy who looks at us and thinks, "I'd tap that." We want a sensible guy who tells us we're beautiful, who loves us or even likes us, for who we are.
We're (I speak for many women) are through with being treated like the trophy-wife pound of flesh that dangles on a man's arm and makes the man with the hottest girlfriend the best - I know I'm sick of it.
For once, I'd like to walk down the street without being called out with whistles and "Hey baby!" when I walk down the street to get the morning paper or a drink after school. There's much more than child custody and responsibility that's responsible for animosity between genders.

No, it's because of the style of communication and the expectations we pin on each other - we expect the opposite sex to be JUST LIKE US and rather than appreciate the differences we create a chasm between us because of it.

No, it's because women can't do things like write their name in the snow, or have a fast line at a Public restroom.
