Why was the roof partly brown? And what was the inside like? I'm not sure how the best way to put this is, but, were there, like, dead bodies everywhere?

There certainly were bodies laying around inside the Superdome. Even after they cleared all the 'living' out there were bodies covered with sheets or whatever they could find (inside and outside). The building smelled like death... rotting bodies (in a building that was 100 degrees). Reports state anywhere from 6-10 bodies remained in the Superdome while people used it as shelter.

Oprah even got to tour the building after it was evacuated... there were still dead bodies inside.

Yes there were still dead bodies in the dome when Bush was congratulating "Brownie", the head of FEMA, for doing such a great job.

The roof had been covered after it was partially destroyed.
There were no dead bodies lying around. Some died but were removed.

The worst problem was human waste. No water to flush.
