I think this actually depends from which side are you looking at the polygon.
Imagine a cooking bowl: if you see it like it's supposed to be, it's concave. If you turn it upside down, is convex.

god this question isn't supposed to be here, but i might as well. a conCAVE (like going in) polygon is one that is not able to have atleast one diagonal (a line drawn from one vertices to another) without it going outside the shape. in other words it has all its exterior angles less than 180 degress. a convex polygon has all its exterior angles more than 180 degrees.
