Last year, I got a written referral for using my cell phone on the bus! I was so pissed. I ride the school bus 6 hours in total a DAY! What else am I gonna do? The road is bumpy and I can't do H.W! My Bus driver will NOT let us even LISTEN TO MUSIC! THERE IS NO RULE AGAINST BOTH OF THEM IN THE STUDENT HANDBOOK! I talked to the A/P at school and she said that I didn't obey the driver, thats why I got it. But! What if the bus driver told me to do something negative?? Everyone strongly dislikes the bus driver. Is there any way to get her fired. She has worked for the county bus system for 15+ yrs. Please help. The reason why she told wrote I was disrespectful is because I respectfully told her that there is no rule printed in my student handbook about restriction of cell phone/ ipods. My parents do not have to time to back me up. They even took my phone away. Here is a copy of my referral.....

WHY DON'T YOU JUST CALL YOUR LOCAL DMV OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.

It's not illegal but it can be against the rules...Some bus drivers allow music, as long as it's on headphones and the bus driver can't hear it. The thing with cell phones is that they're usually not allowed to be used during school unless it's an emergency and the system says that ur still under the school's rules and regulations while on the bus!! Some bus drivers go by that rule and some don't...obviously yours does!

Grow up. This person has been employed for over 15 years and you want her fired because you got a referral?! Have you stopped to consider that she has the lives of the other riders in her hands, as well as her own, to consider without having to listen to you yapping on the phone? She has to monitor the riders, monitor the road, listen to her dispatch radio... she could do without hearing who was frenching who in the hall outside 3rd period. You were disrespectful with trying to cite the handbook. SHE is the DRIVER and WHAT SHE SAYS GOES. She asked you to do nothing that was highly negative for that matter. And it's not that your parents "dont have the time" to back you up. You apparently don't have a case. Get over it!

Bus driver gets to make the rules. Cell phone use on public transportation in GENERAL is rude, we really don't want to hear your private conversations and I imagine on a school bus you have to talk very loudly. Maybe you use language or discuss topics that are not appropriate for the others to hear. The fact that you blatantly break the rules may have led to the total crackdown. Try reading. May I suggest a grammar/spelling book?

Your driver has worked 15+ years without discharge error, is
charged with safe transportation, and for thousands of miles.
My bus driver in Grade 10 had one response to back talk ; it
was to lift and drop me from halted coach to roadside easily
10 miles from my destination. This was before cellular and
a rural area with no home but mine on the far horizon.

Adults deal with adults if you haven't figured that part out yet.
You don't have a phone because adults dealing with adults
all agreed you had nothing to say they needed to hear. Are we still on the same page here? Go pretend to be nice.
