Well really it is neither
It can't be prison, because a divorce won't get you out of prison.
It can't be Heaven, because there is no fighting or crying or anything bad in Heaven.
So I guess my opinion is that it is a little bit of both. Some days it feels like prison, some days it feels like Heaven. If it wasn't that way it would be boring. : )

A prison is something you cannot leave from. You are kept there no matter what. You don't have a way out. In a marriage there is always a way out. When everything starts to cave in on you, there is always the "divorce" , which is the door to your freedom. The only way out of prison is to do your time, then probation, but at least you are out of prison.
I would never compare marriage to a prison for this simple fact.

marriage is a life long commitment. depending on the two individuals in the realtionship, it can be either. I personally think my own marriage is more of a heaven... I never think of it as a prison!

Isn't it a Heaven to be a prisoner in the heart of someone we love?

Marriage is what you and your partner make of it. Equal sharing and respect for each other can make it a heaven. Jealousy, and a controling nature can make it a prison. That;s why there are so many jailbreaks these days.

It all depends on how you look at it and if you are married to the right person. Personally my marriage was made in heaven and with effort on both our parts I hope it stays there.

Heaven...oh yes, no one is perfect, no marriage is perfect, but theres not a feeling in the world better than knowing you have someone by your side who loves you no matter what...who you can always talk to, you always have someone to hold you when things go wrong...someone to make love to and know it has meaning.....to me all these things are the closest to heaven i'll get.

well, since I am getting married in 8 months, I'd say neither. My fiance and I have lived together for 3 years already. It's a little of both. Sometimes at the same time.

sometimes it feels like prison
