I was watching the news this past weekend and heard there is some governor trying to do away with "Ladies Night's" at local bars and clubs. If I remember correctly, this MALE political figure was arguing that it's sexist and degrading to women.

I understand why someone would think that, but c'mon...it's been around for centuries and I have NEVER in my life heard of anyone complaining about it -- unless it's a guy being a baby about paying having to pay $ to get into a bar on this said night. But regardless, that has no bearing on this political figures reasons for banning Ladies Night's -- unless of course he's trying to seek revenge on all those nights he had to pay 5 bucks to get into a club.

Anyways, what does everyone think about this?????

Why should women get all the breaks on discounted drinks. It's time for chicks to start buying men the drinks.

They outlawed ladies' nights here in San Diego a few years ago, but that was some whiny Marine who apparently didn't like drunk women in a bar, instead of a politician.

I guess anything to distract themselves from the actual work of running a country, huh?

The only reasonable basis for outlawing Ladies Night at bars would be "discrimination in accommodation." A way around it would be to have a Men's Night so that everybody is treated equally.

Good thing the political climate is so stable and peaceful that we can indulge in useless conversation about bars and women's right to get in free. I mean, there could be a war going on for god's sake.

I think it's ridiculous.

A technical reading of the law may support the conclusion that it's illegal to charge one sex mare than women. But NO sane man I know would ever mind!

I personally wish people would just "relax" and not cause problems. We have much more important things to worry about.

you think THAT's bad.

There's a JEWISH congress woman here In California pushing to ban all INDIAN mascots from highschools because SHE says it's "degrading to native americans"

didn't even BOTHER to ask US about it though.

Politicians getting way too far into peoples lives , I think there's more IMPORTANT issues to work on than crap like this.

Once you said it's been around for centuries, I found myself unwilling to even try to debate the topic with you.

I think this is another example of the unfortunate harvest of the liberals and their women's lib movement. Now everything has to be equal. It could be solved though if they had a gent's night.
