Let's just put it this way: I severely dislike emos, preps AND posers. I just h8 the way they all act. Emos are way too overemotional and think that the world is revolved around them even though they're probably stuck up rich kids. The problem with preps is they admit that they're stuck up rich kids and they never hide that fact. Posers pretend to be emo one minute and prep the next minute. Why don't ppl stop using these ridiculous labels and just be themselves!?!?

the line between emo and prep is almost non-existent.

Little Sally McPrepshoes didn't get the Coach bag she wanted from Daddy, ugh!! Now she will go listen to Taking Back Sunday. Oh no Sally thinks she's emo. Quick, go to Hot Topic, Sally!

Posers have no self-confidence & all of their peers can spot a poser in a second. The posers are the ones whos parents a real strict with them. They probably wear PJs & have bed times.

I don't care for labeling, but I understand what you mean. I guess they just want to be what they perceive to be "cool".

I was in Hot Topic once (which is not exactly my favorite place, but my childhood fairy and Hello Kitty fetishes suck me in there sometimes), and this girl who could definitely be called a prep was grilling the salesgirl about what was "goth enough". I just wanted to scream "Be yourself! It's okay!"

Somehow, people have forgotten how to JUST BE THEMSELVES! What the heck! Posers is right. These are people who want to be accepted by everybody. The flavor of the day club...

Just be yourself...

It's like a cat. When a cat is threatened, it will raise its back and hiss. Most likely the threat will walk away. When someone is posing, it's the same philosophy. It's how one survives in this cold, cruel, heartless world.

i've never heard anyone say that.Labels do suck, you should not label people,i mean you can't avoid it but what a band sounds like should be brought to attention as the basic sounds (rock, pop, country, metal, reggae) not emo,and whatever the hell else they call alternative music these days.

I hate people who think that the way you dress and act somehow has to coordinate with whatever kind of music you listen to.

Emo has been dead for almost a decade. Anybody who claims to be emo is a poseur.
