you can treat the corrosion with baking soda and water. i have even heard of cola being used. Now to prevent the corrosion place a penny between the two terminals. it will act as a sacrificial cathode. I know it sounds crazy but if you understand the theroy of corrosion it makes perfect sense. The penny will corode instead of the terminals

To answer your question, just use baking soda and water with an old toothbrush. But if you have corrosion most of the time, then there is something wrong with your voltage regulator in you alternator. It seems like it is over charging your battery and causing it to heat up the electrolyte inside the batter.

sounds like the battery is leaking acid out the posts. replacing the battery is recommended, as for cleaning the corrosion, baking soda and water works great!

Baking soda & water will neutralize the build up. Hot water will rinse it off. Try some grease around the connection.

baking soda. If it keeps reoccurring , You are either over charging or the post seal is going. Keep a eye on it cause it might leave you stranded someday.

if your battery is still showing corrosion after you've cleaned and sprayed it then it may be overcharging or have too much water in it.

I thought I remember my instructor saying something about putting baking soda on it and then spray it off, then dry.

As all our friends said you can use baking soda, hotwater, coke etc.But please check why it is happening very frequently.any leakage of acid is detected??do yu overfil the cells??
Once you cleaned apply some petroleum jelly like vaseline which will prevent the corrosion
