Of course they will. But hey, neo-cons have their guns and extreme liberals have their pro-choice, so all is well with them in the universe.

The dumbest argument I keep hearing is "If you aren't doing anything wrong then why should it bother you?" That's like saying, "If you are not dealing any drugs, then why care if the police randomly kick down doors to search for them?" I give up AND regret serving this country to protect the constitution. What a waste of time that was...

Of course. If you really believed that they waited for a warrant in the first place you are a little naive. You know they listened first and if it sounded like a case then they got a warrant so they could use it in court.

It may, but the power is anything but new.

Presidents have the power as commander-in-chief of the military to engage in enemy surveillance. Bush has done less than Lincoln of FDR ever did. Only the technology has changed.

To the extent Congress attempts to limit the president's constitutional authority, such a law would itself be unconstitutional. Seems like Bush pulled back to avoid a contest over this. That may have been a mistake.

Yes, we need to be careful who we elect as president. That's why I'm so worried about 2008.

Any phone call, anywhere in the world, might, due to need, be channeled through the U.S. A call from Pakistan going to Saudi Arabia might very well go through Chicago, Illinois on the way there.

That's why this power is so important.

The only people they can listen to are suspects from another country talking to someone in another country. The only thing that's in the US is the router. Go read the bill, goof.

Do you think we should need a warrant to listen to foreigners?

Another case of a liberal getting lied to and eating it up.

The government eavesdrops to stop terrorists from sneaking up and destroying America and its' people. That's us. They can listen in to my calls anytime.

Men of America! The government is not interested in conversations between you and your mistresses.

So don't get your bloomers in a wad!

What do you mean "eventually"? They're probably doing it *right now*.

Unfortunately, some people foolishly think that the government will limit its listening to international phone calls only. Yeah, right...whatever.
