What exactly does this mean? How do you fake a relationship? And I'm sure there are women who do it to.

Faking a relationship is telling someone you care just so you can:

1. Get laid
2. Get dinner paid for you or made for you
3. Get through the evening without any discord

Reminds me of that Rollins song where some of the lyrics are:

"I'll agree with you so you'll think I relate!"

First of all I didn't get your question properly. Still the answer to it is that certain women as well as well certain men also fake relationship. It all depends on the relationship they maintain with each other. I am not sure women fake orgasm if they really enjoy the sex.

I think it would be pretty emotionally as well as physically draining to fake an entire relationship. I am not sure how its done and have never experienced or heard of a man doing this, other than some petty thing that is very short lived.

Surely both genders are capable of faking an entire relationship, although the notion of that boggles my brain. In the history of espionage, there are numerous incidences of spies faking an entire marital relationship successfully for years. Can you imagine the horror and confusion the mate in those cases must have felt when the truth was revealed?

A woman can fake a relationship as well (i.e., stringing a guy along so she can get what she wants).

I didn't know this matter was gender-specific. I don't know why some women seem to think it is.

I think this was more of a sarcastic joke used by women, and other women took this quote literally as the gospel. One person said Sharon Stone coined it... she may have not been the first though.

Didn't Germaine Greer say this?
Women are guilty of stupidly stroking the male ego when it is unwarranted.
Men can be lying, cheating, leading double lives and will carry on as normal with you.
Women too can behave like this and I'm sure they do with the new found freedom of feminism
equality for all!

i guess that faking a relationship is what it states-
the faker pretends to be in love with their partner and lives with them and does things couples do, but really, its all a lie-
they claim to love when really, they are in it for the sex, money, and just a place to be untill they find somebody else-
thats faking a relationship,

I suppose that the person who proposed this idea was suggesting that the men are not truly commited in the relationship...
