There's no relation between right of religion and pot.
The prohibition of pot has more to do with racism than any other thing. Marijuana was the smoke of choice for the Mexican-Americans that migrated to the south west of the USA in the beginning of the 20th century. At that time, there was a movement trying to regulate alcohol and narcotics through taxation more than prohibition. But the root of all was that alcohol, narcotics and marijuana were used by groups considered of less social value. The uneducated drunks, the chinese and their opium and the mexican with their marijuana.
The tobacco was included at some point but there were (and are) two main reasons why it was excluded. One, the USA produced tobacco at that time and it was a source of revenue. And two, it was a socially accepted drug. Those working towards the banning of the other drugs were smokers. It's the same situation now by the way.

Nothing you can eat, inhale or smear over your body should be illegal. It's your body, your decision, your responsibility.
Religion doesn't condemn drugs, the vatican does and they're not religious people. I don't know what they are.

Damaging your body is a sin (according to the Judeo-Christian belief) and you'll have to respond for that. It's you and your god. Jesus was clear about it, your sins are your business and nobody else's.

And if you're not a believer, it's just you.

All things natural are gifts from God. Used properly there is good in everything. Misuse, however is not God's intent but man's. God gave man the ability to reason and make decisions, so if man decides to misuse one of God's gifts and man suffers is it God's fault? No it is man's fault. No hypocracy here at all.

Pot is illegal, it has nothing to do with religion.
Religions condemn the use of drugs.
Constitutions protect religion, not drugs, not medicine.

Tree trunks are also covered under that but people are still going to stop you from leaving them all over the roadway or bashing your mate's head in with one.

Nice stretch. Nope.
