I've tried multiple things but the display won't show up at all. the computer was running just fine a little while back and there where no viruses so can someone help? And i have also tried different video cards but nothing happened. Problem- Nothing on screen and everything plugged in correctly!

Check to make sure that none of the pins on the video cord are bent.

Sounds like the monitor is shot. If the monitor is the original from a Windows 98 machine, that wouldn't suprise me given that the monitor is likely 7-10 years old now.

When you turn the system on, does the monitor power button light up? Basically, make sure the monitor is getting power. If it is but you aren't getting a display it's probably the monitor itself. You can try swapping in a different monitor and see if the problem persists. If it does, then it's another issue such as the memory or the disk being corrupted so the system never loads and there isn't anything to display.

you can ask someone if you could borrow there monitor. then hook it up to your computer. if it turns on that means the problem is gonna be the monitor. if it doesn't turn on get new cables compatible w/ your monitor and PC (good luck finding parts to a '98!). I'll give you a star :)

if you can turn the CPU on (hear he HDD turning)
1. Try another monitor, make sure the pin cable is not damage
2. If you hear the the beep (like a morse sound) Long beep, long beep, short beep, short beep. that will be your memory card error... replace the memory
3. if there is no sound... it means you need to buy a new motherboard

Can you hear the computer running? is there activity in the HDD? If not, then you may have a problem in either the power supply or the HDD. If you do, try repositioning the memory (RAM)
