Notebooks usually don't have the ability to upgrade the GPU, if you're not gaming the 950 is... meh... ok I guess.

Be careful some graphics cards rob from the computers RAM to satisfy the claims of the RAM for the card. If you are not going to be gaming or graphics programs, then yes you will be fine. Vista is real graphics intensive though, so if you are going to run that you may want a graphics card.

Integrated graphics chips like that don't even begin to compare to dedicated graphics cards, I'm afraid. If you don't want to do anything (aaaannyyything) graphically intensive with your machine, it should be okay, but if you want to play games on it sometime in the future, check out some dedicated cards.

I have a MacBook which uses that same graphics processor, I personally don't have any problems with it except when i try to play games, i also have 2GB of RAM. So as long as your not a gamer its fine.

while you're after length as against overall performance, i would not decide to compromise my overall performance because of the fact of a few inches or a pound or 2. despite if, because of the reality that it is shared memory, you will dig out of your RAM, purely taking you to form of 750mb... which, in gentle of Vista's specs, would have a lot of effect on the overall performance. i'd circulate with the 6400. 256mb video is a splash overkill, yet you do choose that RAM. If it have been me, i'd say even 1024mb became pushin the overall performance barriers a splash. extra useful risk-free than sorry :)
