I have been in the marine business for ten years. You should be able to do it. There are products out there that are stronger and MUCH lighter than plywood. They also will never rot. I can't remember the name but there is a honeycomb type design that comes in 4 X 8 sheets. It is basically a type of plastic. Lighter means faster and more fuel efficient. But it's also a trade-off for ride comfort. Heavier boats plow thru waves better. Good luck.

You can do this and it is not as difficult as you think .. try to get the old floor up so you can see what went wrong with the previous owners' work ---- you might be happier to cleanup the old mess and string new wood and take the boat to a fiberglass repair shop and get the new wood covered to prevent ''wet rot'' under the new marine plywood boat floor .... just basic common sense will direct you to an excellent repair job... and by the way the sea-ray hull is a good lay up of fiberglass and the new floor and out-door carpet will dress-up your boat and also it will have alot less water-bump noise and rattle ..........

I make it sound easy it's not.Have done many times. If you have to glass the stringers it's a big job your taken on. Support the boat from the chimes & keel only or it will bow the bottom.Try an leave 4-5"s on the out side of plywood or glass the plwood up sides??? If the glass work failed, place plywood under the leading edge so you can place plyood on top of.Cut plywood fit an fourm .Glass bottom of wood so it won't rot.use SS screw or will rust away.Glass floor 1.5oz glass carpet floor.

No problem...Depending on what kind of floor your looking for as a finish ( carpet or non-skid surface ). If your handy as a Carpenter than you'll have no problem. First remove all the flooring and stringers. Next you'll have to duplicate new stringers and install, I use a good outdoor adhesive to give it some extra strength. Next after all your stringers are in place give them a good coat of resin epoxy. You'll need a good grade of exterior plywood and install it over your new stringers.( don't spare the adhesive) Next after all flooring is in fill all your seams and voids with a coating of auto body filler ( epoxy ) After the floor is all in and any high spots have been sanded it time to fiberglass and resin the entire floor surface. Your done !! Now is time to decide what finish you want. indoor-outdoor or non-skid....Hope this helps ya.

Oh, yeah. You can do this no prob. Take your time and use marine-grade plywood. There are plenty of websites and books out there that give all the how to's Use the old stringers and floor panels as templates. If you have a bandsaw it will be even easier, a jigsaw will work, though.

Yes you should be able to. Treated plywood and fiberglass/Mesh and resin. I redid my 19.5' about 4yrs ago and its holding up great. Just take your time. A good fit and good fiberglass application is the key. good luck.
