or condo? Was it the cost and physical load of maintaining the house? I assume the rent was low if you have been in a home for over 28 years with a conventional mortgage.

After my husband died and after realizing that the house is not the "same" as when we still lived together in it.
I am at a time trying to sell it.
When my husband died, I thought I would not move, its mine and his , its ours.
But as time goes by, I realize it's only me here now; he is not around the house and the garden anymore, he has gone and never come back.
I want to get out.

when I had to remortgage after having a serious medical operation, because of no health insurance ( was within 1 house payment of having it paid off ). then I realized it was going to be impossible to maintain the house and make mortgage payments with the amount of money I was going to get on social security.with no medical coverage the only thing I could do was sell and move to a place where I could be taken care of with everything furnished for the rest of my life.

I moved to an apartment after my husband died. My mobility had become very limited and I needed to be closer to help than out in the boondocks where I was very isolated. So I left what I loved and moved to what I have learned to like quite a lot!

when i became a widow i could not handle it and l sold it and moved.
I dont drive and could not get out at all from the house
i now have a small apt downtown
