The sky was very clear last night, so I sat on the front porch gazing at the stars and looking for constellations. Funny enough, I did realize that I was small compared to all of the stars in sky. Then I was brought back to realization when I found a two day old kitten underneath my porch and knew that something smaller than me was in more need than I was.

Every night! That is my "alone time" I go out just before the sun sets and watch the hummers take in their last drink for the night and then just lay back and enjoy! There is just something about a desert sunset with a stormy sky that lets up and lets the stars come out. And sadly that is about the only thing I like about living in a dried up cactus a** desert ; ) And yes, I do feel little in the scheme of things, but I also get that warm and fuzzy feeling too.

Every night! I go into my back garden regardless of what my day has been like and look up at my huge trees, take a deep breath then gaze at the stars, knowing that somewhere up there is a Heaven and that one day I'll be there ('cos I've bin an awfully good girl)
Or maybe just when I'm watchin' TV. Loadsa 'Stars' there.

Well its kinda hard to do that in Chicago, However, a couple months ago, I was in a big park at night. I was standing in the middle, where there were no lights. Only a open field surround by trees. I saw a beautiful spotted night sky. I wish I could always see that. And Yes, I did feel very small.

I do this a lot. I have a small telescope but you can still appreciate all the craters on the moon with a pair of binoculars. It's pretty cool, you should check it out, plus, this last weekend there was a meteor shower! Also, you can tell the difference between stars and planets because planets don't twinkle!

Last night. I was with my ex and we were laying down on this bench next to each other. He was telling me how he can't tell me he loves me 'cause it will only make things worse, and so, I looked up at the sky to avoid looking him in the eye 'cause I knew I'd cry. And those little twinkles looked so small and insignificant: but they are huge! And I found myself wishing I could be a star like Claire Dane's character in Stardust...
