This is a hard question. I think part of it is the responsibility of their Imams. The Koran is not to be studied independently, therefore the Imams interpret and teach their subjects what they see as the correct way of Islam. These Imams often attend school in Saudi where they are taught and financed to teach hatred of us the infedels. This starts early on in childhood. Check out www.memri.org This website monitors the TV broadcasts of various countries. You can see for yourself the hatred thats taught. Now that doesn't excuse what the world has done in these regions, but it also isnt an excuse to kill innocent people. The solution of poverty, poor school systems, and the feelings of hopelessness have to be addressed before the situation changes.

The data collected on all suicide attacks since 1980 by Robert Pape of the University of Chicago found that overwhelmingly suicide-terrorist attacks are not driven by religion as much as they are by a clear strategic objective: to compel modern democracies to withdraw military forces from the territory that the terrorists view as their homeland. For example, in Lebanon in the 1980s, of 41 suicide attackers, only eight were Islamic fundamentalists. Twenty-seven were Communists and Socialists. Three were Christians. Also in Iraq, although Saddam was a hated dictator who put down rebellions with vicious cruelty, there were no suicide attacks until the US invasion.

Most Islamic suicide bombers are young people, some are just children as young as 9. Several young men brainwashed in to think if they die in the name of Allah they would get in heaven virgins. I don't know about you but how many virgins do you need, it is like any good thing enough is enough. The Arabs use parts of Koran and writings of their religious leaders as gospel. Several Christian Churches are doing the same. All of three religions are pick and choosing parts of the Torah, the Koran and the Bible to justify their beliefs. To a young man sex is a great incentive and to the Arabs given virgins, like a Christian the keys to Heaven.

They're not angry individuals. They are recruited into believing they are doing good through their actions. War and religion are both areas in which people do bad things for what they believe to be good reasons. However, it has been shown the terrorists use the same psychological recruiting tools which are used by cults in America- Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Church of Christ.
And it is similarly used by gangs on youths.

I think that they really do believe deep down that they are doing it for God and that they will be rewarded afterwords....
And that they are very selfish and ignorant.: because they kill others and have no change in others except more repulsion for their religion ( and no one will convert if they kill innocent people)

they are trained as young children to be killers. they are taught that if they die in the process of killing their "enemy" they will go to their "heaven". i believe they are angry because they are taught not to value human life, even their own. how can you be happy if you dont value life?
