Laptops are compact models of the same machines that we use for our desktops. They have the same types of parts but many of them are smaller, and laptops have no room for cooling ducts and fans like those in a desktop. That combined means the heat will build up and since the bottom of your laptop is where most of the components, including the motherboard, are located and that it is where the heat tries to escape. If you place your hand on the side of a desktop computer (the side all the connectors are on, usually looking at the front it will be the right side) you will feel some heat and also if you place your hand on top where the power supply is. If the system is built well and has good ventilation it may not be too bad but this will show you how all computers generate some heat. Laptops are just notoriously worse.

You can purchase laptop coolers that sit under the laptop and have fans to help cool the laptop from several vendors like Tiger Direct or Newegg.

First, those little pesky electrons keep colliding into atoms and other electrons in matter. These collisions produce heat. The faster speed a CPU is and the higher the voltage it operates on increases the heat it generates. The heat from the die of the integrated circuit needs to be removed somehow or the components will melt. Heat transfer dictates the area, material and how much air flow is necessary to remove that heat without causing damage.

The laptop is generally not designed not to be operated ot the lap and if you've been noticing the term is now notebook. The thermostaticly controlled fan and it's intake is llikely located there. When you place it directly on your lap, the intake gets blocked. If you block the intake of your hair dryer, it will get hot and the heating element or it's protection (thermal fuse) will blow.

I converted my "laptop" to a "notebook" by cutting a piece of acrylic plastic and covering the bottom with some bubble heating duct insulation. Bubble wrap with a foil. This allows the notebook to sit on a flat surface and the air channels that need to be there are created when your operating the "notebook" on your lap.

The bottom of a laptop gets hot because the battery is on the bottom. It has cooling fans but if they do not have proper ventilation they have been known to cause injury in the form of burns.

Because of the computer running for a long time. Like if you have a desktop and after 1 hour touch it its hot. I suggest getting a notebook stand with a fan built in so it keeps it cool. Also don't stay on a notebook for a long time or else it could over heat and have some problems.

gadgets that are skinny tend to get heated up! The have much less potential to hold air, subsequently reducing air flow. many times in case of laptops getting heated, it relies upon on the utilization. while the CPU utilization is very intense, the flaws get heated up. there isn't any longer something to stress approximately. purely confirm that proper air circulate happens. There are additionally pc cool pads attainable, you need to purchase a sort of and use, it improves the air circulate!.............. :) thank you for examining!

Because the heat dissapator that the fans blow through gets well over 100 degrees and there is only a small bit between that and your legs. The fans come on to blow cooler air through the coils and thus cool your CPU chip and video GPU. If you opened your desktop and touched the processor coil, it would be hot too.

It's not usually the battery, but the processor(s). This gets the hottest the fastest, which is why computers come with vents and fans to get the hot air out.

Batteries can get hot too, however, so it could be either.

It will get hot around where the CPU is, that's OK it's supposed to. Some are badly designed though, so the main thing to do is look under it and make sure that when you sit it on your lap, that you are not covering any vent holes that may be drawing in air for cooling.

Because the fan vent is usually there. Oddly enough, laptops are really designed to use on a table, NOT on your lap! Try moving it around so that the fan vents aren't getting hot. Trust me on this one - don't give it enough air and you will fry your hard drive.

I think it's too small to make it hot. I suggest you to buy the laptop's cooler platform, a Targus, underneath the laptop. Target's, Best Buy or other stores sell that. It reduces laptop's heat to make it last longer.
