No. For one thing, nobody's ever really safe- it's just an illusion. For another, our security has been greatly weakened by the many misadventures of President Bush. I will breathe a great sigh of relief when someone who actually believes in the constitution is once again sitting in the Oval office.

I sense a predudice against Democrats and like all predjudices (Meaning to pre-judge - to judge before knowledge) it is born out of not knowing the subject one dislikes, fears, hates etc. Oh, we all THINK we know because we have friends who agree with us and we get our information from similar sources so everything points in one direction.
But we have a LEFT and a RIGHT eye. A LEFT and a RIght ear. We should look through both in order to gain PERSPECTIVE.
Are you AFRAID of Democrats? Well, be reasonable. Did the USA stop functioning when Democrats were in power? Did Castro attack the USA? (And please explain why Castro is our enemy and China isn't?)
Which party actually increased government size and debt? (Answer: Republicans under Reagan and Bush Jr.)
Which party actually decreased government size and debt?
(Answer: Democrats under B. Clinton & Gore. It was Gore's job to consolidate government offices)
I don't claim that the Republicans are idiots and the Democrats Saints. Both parties have their strengths and their weaknesses. Both have contributed to the greatness of this country. The problem I have now is not with the Rebublicans so much as the Neo Conservatives who are trying to divide the USA into opposing camps. I think (as opposed to know) that the most vocal of the NeoConservatives think nothing of exploiting peoples' fears in order to become wealthy celibrities. These people are the real danger to the United States because:United we stand; divided we fall.
Think before you speak. Look for facts, not rumor or gossip. Look to the Left AND the Right and be critical of both. Rise above fear. Try to understand WHY things happen rather than just reacting to events. Know that not every conflict should be resolved by fighting. If you feel fighting must occur know who you are to fight and why, then ask yourself, am I willing to join this fight myself or have my children or grand children fight this fight or would I rather have someone else do the fighting and I will support them? If the latter I suggest you have deep reservations you haven't acknowledged.
We have the biggest brain of all animals for a reason. Use it or loose it.

No, a loyalty oath is worthless if it's a lie. Just like DemoKKKrat Robert Byrd says he made a "youthful mistake" when he became a KKK Kleagle, a recruiter who persuaded others to join the KKK. But he just did that on the spur of the moment, he wasn't thinking. He only got 50 people to join the KKK before he realized what he was doing. Then he stopped right away, and he has legislated plenty of money to blacks ever since he decided it was wrong to fillibuster the Civil Rights Act of 1964 the way he did. He is SOOOOOO sorry about that. He thought he was fillubustering a different bill, he had no idea. It was all just a terrible mistaKKKe.......

I would feel less safe. Just the same, there are too many normal americans left, ones that are patriotic, and understand that sometimes freedom comes at a price. As long as I have people like that on this continent, I know that we'll "get er' done" even if the government takes 4 years off to wallpaper a building that is earmarked for demolition.

No, I would feel much safer than I do now. My civil liberties, right to privacy, and freedom of information would be a lot safer.
Religious freedom, or the right to have no religion, a woman's freedom of choice, and most other rights are safer when a good Democrat is in office!
Even a good Republican would make me feel safer than whatever this is we have now.
The only right that feels secure right now,..is my right to give Uncle Sam 29% of my meager income, so all those poor rich people won't have to pay their tax attorneys quit so much !
What, Me Bitter ?? Naaah

Not really, and not if it is a republican ether.
I do not judge my safety on the candidates political affiliation, i judge it on how well and how hard they will try to secure our borders and how well and how hard they will combat terrorism.
As long as the candidate wants to bring Bin Laden to justice, get our troops on the right battlefields, and finish the job in Afghanistan., then i think i would feel safer with them, regardless of whether there a Dem or a Rep.

Absolutely. We're not totally safe as it is, but under Democrats, it would be even worse.
Our democratic majority Congress is currently trying to pass bills that would loosen the watchful eye over terrorists. They're wanting to do less to keep up with what terrorists are planning.
Mind you, they're all against wiretapping, which can, will, and has been used to intercept crucial data in order to prevent future attacks.

I'd feel that the best interests of this nation would stand at risk in that the democratic party has yet to prove to me they have the gumption to stand for what is right rather then simply cow towing to the UN (which is corrupt and useless) and no longer believe in an American existence. It seems that to them at least America is alway the villain. What about you?

Not really. I don't feel unsafe now. It's not like I think about it all the time. Frankly, though, I'd worry about how much they'd give into the terrorists, ala Neville Chamberlain, to attain "Peace in our time."

no, i would feel safer. think about it, the last liberal we had in power, our country wasnt it debt, unemployment numbers were lower, and you didnt even hear about terrorist attacks. doesnt it seem like now that we have a republican, everyone is hurting for money, a good job, and scared to travel anywhere outside the US? Things arent going very well with republicans running the show, so why not give the democrats a chance. what can it hurt?
