Have you ever been around a zorse?

Question

They're so pretty. I learned of zorses in Outside magazine and am curious to know more.

For those who haven't seen one of these beauties, below is an image of a zorse:

I don't want to buy a zorse; just wanted to know of anyone's experiences with the animal. Thank you. (((hugs)))

I'm an animal lover, and came across this animal sanctuary, Noah's Lost Ark in Ohio. I've never been there but plan to go...someday! They have a zorse. I'd never heard of one before this one. (First link, scroll down about half way and there's KHIRA. Talks a little about how they came to be.)

The only zorse i know about is the one that trains using Pat Parelli's training methods and i've seen him ridden without a bridle. They do take intensive socialization to make them tolerate people. These folks seem to be doing the most with breeding zorses, zonies and zonkeys. They should be someone you're talking to and see if they're right for you.

Zelda is pretty, but she'll never make a good pet. Go back and read her behavior profile...she can't stand being cooped up, and animals like that are seldom amenable to petting, let alone riding. If you'll note, they didn't answer the question about that very topic - riding. I suspect she'd behave the way most Zebras do when attempts are made to ride them - she'll bite and kick.
Y'wanna unusual animal to ride, go for an Onager.
