During shooting for the Abbey Road album, it was during a promotional stunt by the group, dropping hints that Paul was "dead," tradition in the U.K. is to bury someone barefoot . . . and if you look even closer, his eyes are closed, and take a look at the Volkswagen in the pic . . . more importantly, look at the license plate, you'll notice that the larger print reads "28 IF," a play on stating that, IF Paul were alive at the time, he would be 28.
