If they were really concerned they would not be multi-millionaires they would live modestly and use the rest to further social causes instead of confiscating the dollars of the middle class.

Isn't that the oddest thing. Did you know of the ten richest senators in congress, the majority of them are Democrats. Most of the Democratic senators fall in the top 50% of the richest.
Don't make any sense for the party of the common man.

Tell me something, please... It takes MILIIONS of dollars to run for office. How could anybody without a small fortune ever be elected for anything? And why is it okay and wonderful for Republicans to be rich as Midas and do nothing for the little guy?

I read someone's comment on here a few weeks ago that said instead of welfare, poor people should rely on charity. Now, if the rich are against higher taxes, do we really think they are going to be giving away GOBS of cash to charity?

The bottom line is we cannot rely on the rich to support the poor through charity. They will not do it. Therefore, we as a society need to make sure that those poor who can are working, and that those who can't can get enough to eat and be clothed.

But nowhere in anything I have read did it say that Democrats had to take a vow of poverty. That is foolish.

Sadly, because the only way to be a Senator or a Representative, is to have massive connections, and a massive war chest.

There are Democrats on local councils, school boards, mayors of small towns, who aren't millionaires, are for the little guy, and will never be able to be elected to national office.

Because they have convinced the "little guys" that successful people should somehow be made to feel guilty for working hard and being successful, and should give up the fruits of their labor to support the little guys so the little guys can vote for Democrats. Take John Edwards for example; how much more do you suppose that your paying to purchase goods and services because of personal injury shysters like Edwards and their frivolous lawsuits? Yeah, he's for the little guys all right!

Why do the ultra-rich Republicans do the same? Because all politicians need the little guy to vote for them, after getting the rich guy to pay for their candidacy.

Yep, because they want the little guy to STAY the little guy!

They don't want people to help themselves!

If they can get the people to go along for a free ride, then they know they have the votes!!!

It's a disgrace.
