When Robert Murat was public enemy No.1, the McCann friends had no problem at all sticking the boot in, but now Rachael Oldfield has complained to the papers.

"Mrs Oldfield said: "They are throwing mud at us and we are not able to defend ourselves.""

Hmmm ....... where have I heard that before ...... Oh thats right! When YOU and your cohorts sat there and accused Mr Murat of hanging suspiciously around the apartment.

Doesn't feel so nice now does it Ms Oldfield, when the pressure comes 180 degrees?

"She added that she still believed it was an abduction.

"There would only be a small window for somebody to do it (abduct Madeleine) but presumably if somebody had been watching our movements then it would have been possible," she said. "

Yeah you keep clutching at those straws Rachael. The rest of us know better ........

By the way Rachael, you have a 1 year old child, where was she on the night of May 3? Surely you didnt do a 'McCann' as well and leave her all by herself???

Lottie - You realise who put Madeleine in that position in the first place?

Seems like the Pro McCanns are out in force tonight. Thats OK, I like a good fight! lol.

Ms Highwater - So Fiona Payne finger pointing and yelling at Murat ........ we'll just ignore that shall we? Who's being selective now about what they want to hear? Murat should sue those 3 for harrasment!

Christina K - 2 parents negligence has led to the likely death of their daughter. Over in the US, a woman is sitting in prison in extremely similar circumstances. Yet we reward the McCanns with a million pounds and their liberty? I don't think so. Lets see some justice for Madeleine shall we and stop trying to shoot down the people who are trying to bring it.

Just been having a look through the answers Dave - sometimes you can find a wee gem - unfortunately not tonight! Like you say, seems like there a few selective memories - it's OK to absolutely TANK Murat but leave the McC's alone - like hell!

TRIPPER: Speaking sense as per usual!

DR WATSON: You can CANCEL the star, you know! (Sorry Dave)

2plus3: Good answer!

And to all the responders who answer in the negative - like I'm bored/fed up with McCann questions, blah! blah! - WHEN YOU SEE McCANN IN THE HEADING - DO NOT OPEN AND DO NOT ANSWER! GET YOUR TWO POINTS ELSEWHERE AND GIVE US ALL PEACE!!!

totally agree with what you say. I never really liked to think of these things happening and i never would say online (just incase i was wrong) what i thought had happened, but things never added up. I know the portugese police do things diffrently over there, and no evidence is allowed to be released, but they don't release evidence over here in the UK incase it jepordises the trial, by too much media involvement. But i think cos the public who follow the case as close as they can, pick things up which could be true or false and make their own minds up. I think it was wrong to release his name in the press as prime suspect, cos what good did it do? UK police dont do that, not until enough evidence and charges are brought, not other way round.
Another thing what i think people will be talking about soon enough is that none of our press have been reporting the blood found on her bedroom wall as much as other countries. I wonder if this was something which the McCanns knew would happen at some point and that is why the big fancy hotshot lawyers were hired ready to serve deflamatory orders on the UK press. (i dont know the exact name of the papers they would serve but its something like that) and that is what the fund was set up for. Wonder if these lawyers are up to date with other countries laws and that maybe why they havent managed to stop the other countries press leaking this information which puts the family and/or the friends in a bad light???!!!! Just a thought.
I agree though that it is wrong the way things have happened and the investiagtion is going, but then again, maybe the police have suspected everyone close to maddie for a while and not said anything to give them a false sence of security if they have got something to hide. I dont know what goes off behind the scenes at the police investiagtion, and i wouldnt like to say on who has done what until its offically released, but i have my theories, and i hope i am wrong.
The friends and family are feeling what robert murrat and his family have been going through, i dont know if he has anything to do with it cos we dont know on what grounds he was made a suspect on, apart from being too helpful and was compared to ian huntley, and that his alibi had changed slightly, (but that maybe that he was having an affair with that married woman i heard) and the 3 friends saying they saw him that night. Like i say, i dont know that full story, i dont think anyone does apart from the police, and if they dont, i dont think it will be too long before they do. Maddie needs finding and questions should be answered!!!! Everyone is guilty of failing that little girl, the parents for leaving her, whatever they say, its just an excuse. I watched it on sky news the days after she went missing and there is no way they can see that apartment from where they ate. A big massive wall was blocking the view. (what sky news showed) and why didnt anyone say "no this is a bad idea" all those kids sound FAR TOO YOUNG to be left. Even if she turns up safe and well, they still need to be answering these questions. None of this makes sence and i think its wrong, but i do believe that it will come out, and i feel sorry for the family if they are genuinely innocent of any wrong doing (!) because they are going to get a big back lash of public hate if this story sticks and any more follow, if the legal team lets it get that far. Mud sticks and this, i think, will change everything now. Rightly or wrongly i dont know, but i have heard people talking again about maddie, but this time peoples opinions are changing to one of serious doubt about that night.

I do not know if Murat had anything to do with the SUSPECTED disappearance of Maddie, I think that they should leave him alone a bit and start looking more into the parents and their circle of friends. I do feel quite sorry for this man cause it looks to be like a set-up, but on the other hand I'm sorry but I do not in any way feel sorry of G or K, OK yes unfortunately their child has been SUPPOSEDLY ABDUCTED, (as of yet no proof to prove this fact), as she could have been killed in the apartment. I think the Mcscam's and friends are getting a bit worried with the situation and are coming out with their claws ready...

P.s. Glad to see your still about Dave, your information is very good, and see it quicker on here than anywhere else... thanks for your links and stuff they are brill......

Excellent points. In actual fact Robert Murat has carried himself in a far more dignified manner than the McCanns. Did he throw a hissy fit when his name was sprawled all over the papers and when he was on the other side of the mud slinging?

For a family who like to provide the impression that they are judicious in their dealings with people they certainly did not protest about Robert Murat being innocent until proven guilty... they encouraged that wild goose chase didn't they...

If they feel that they are getting heat now and they are based in Portugal they should wonder what would happen were they ever to return to the UK!!

for those that don't believe the McCanns & friends didn't enjoy the mud slinging towards Robert Murat, how about the link on the Madeleine website, for the up and coming fundraising march, that when you clicked it took you directly to a piece about RM being a suspect!

Right so here we have the circle of friends who have a pact of silence because presumably birds of a feather and all that so how many of them left their children alone and are afraid to drop the McCanns in it because they would be in danger of child neglect. Plus the McCanns have a million quid to splash on whitewash and defence of their actions but I wonder if they would 'donate' any of that money to their 'friends' to help them out. The 'friends' should have realised by now that they will not get a bean. I would be extremely worried by now if I were a 'friend' of the McCanns. They will have no compunction in dropping anyone in it if it gets them off the hook.

Nice to know that Kate McCann does know that abductions are common. That rather blows away her comments that they thought they were safe to leave the children unattended in a child friendly resort. Give me strength.
Was the one year old child of Rachel Oldfield left unattended?

Obvioulsy some people don't like it when the boot is on the other foot. It seems like they were all leaving their children alone then. They should be seen by social servicies. The Boss says what they did in Portugal, they probably did here in the UK which would constitute grounds for the group that had children to be investigated - ASAP as to their conduct in rearing children!

The friends of the McCanns are starting to realise that agreeing to a pact of silence with criminals might not have been the smartest move.

I agree with you - I dont understand why so many people are having a go at you for asking a sensible question - if the Mccanns cant take the critisism then they should not have left the children in the first place.
