you see kids 10-20 acting like total sluts...

why do they do it?

It's what they see in the culture, in the media...magazines, movies, etc. Kids who don't have solid role models in real life are especially affected because these images becomes their role models.

I blame the parents. I am a preschool teacher and I see kids coming to school dressed inappropriately. It's still within the dress code so there isn't much I can do about it. What worries me the most about little girls dressing like that is here on the reservation where there is a high crime rate and alcohol and drug problems, little girls who dress that way, in my opinion, are more likely to be sexually abused.

Also, we can blame pop culture. Those cartoon characters Bratz look like little tramps and girls want to look like them. I've seen girls on the Disney Channel who dress like hookers too....girls see these tv characters as role models.

Society as a whole needs to clean up its act. If I were a parent my kids wouldn't look like that. That's for damn sure. I suppose all we can do is start with ourselves and hope others will follow suit.

I don't know. But I think it's weird that the word slutty got edited yet the word slut did not. Or maybe it was because it was pluralized. Hmmm. Let's see. Sluts. Well I just checked and it's editing some variations of the words and not the others. I really don't understand the censorship standards on this ******* thing. Now I know that will get edited.

Kids dress like sluts and whores nowadays because they see it on tv and that's pretty much what you have to do to get the attention of a guy.I'll still never truly understand why.As a guy i don't find that good.But maybe i'm different.

Because something or someone has told them that it's cute to dress that way and because they are young and impressionable they don't know any better. It is very sad because they don't realize that looking like a slut is not appealing and attracts the wrong type of people.

The easy answer is society's expectations of women looking youthful and apeasing the male population...whatever that means. In reality it's a lack of responsibility on the parents part who like their children display themselves this way. Most of the time the children are just following the lead of their mothers unfrotunately and it feels good to be noticed. They don't care that they're only noticed for their bodies so they're happy and America looks like crap because of it.

Wow, the answers here sure show us how this country was founded by the Puritans. That "slutty" term is in your heads. I hear this complaint a lot but nothing about the ultra-violence in the movies made here.

Just watch any music video or watch any TV show that is gear for that audience. Throw in parents either being non-existent or working to hard and there you go.
