Just thinking that maybe A-Rod has no interest in sticking around for another 10-15 years just to try and become the Home Run King. Maybe in 5 years, he leaves to go enjoy his 200+ million dollars. Boy would the public be pi$$ed about that.

Seems that people are nearly demanding that A-Rod right the ship by breaking Bonds record....

What if A-Rod does not care to?

Boy, will you Bond's haters be upset.

No, I think he would love to break that record. A-Rod has always been preoccupied with his image (not unusual for an athlete). Of course, this Canseco book may change things since it supposedly implicates A-Rod.

This is the most hallowed record in all of sports, it has to be Alex's goal to get it as well as win a world series. I can't see him retiring at 37 years old either, he is a player and will play until he cannot play any longer, he won't retire to enjoy his money

I hate Barry Bonds not for steroids but because he is a racist saying openly he doesnt sign autographs for white people.

That being said all this stuff about Bonds after the age of 40 and nothing about Roger Clemens fastball becomming faster I find that troubling

A-ROD IF HE WANTS TO WILL HIT 817 HOMERUNS BARRING A CAREER THREATENING INJURY.

PUJOS IS ALREADY 27 I DOUBT HE HITS ANOTHER 400 HOMERUNS

AND FOR THE HOWARD LOVERS HE'LL HIT 500 BUT NOT 700

A-ROD AND GRIFFEY WILL BE THE ONLY PLAYERS IN THE NEXT 15 YEARS TO HIT 600 HOMERUNS

What about Albert Pujols? Won't he eventually top both Bonds and A-Rod?

Alex Rodriques is a "me" player not a "team" player so I think he will stick around if he has a chance of breaking the record.
